Here we have a great example of bathroom tile, grout and silicone restoration. The client in this case had a go themselves at cleaning these tiles and grout as well as having professional cleaning companies come over to have a go, unfortunately when it gets to this stage the grout needs replacing completely and the tiles need the correct restoration processes. We first started by removing all mould and limescale to get a better look at the grout, it was then decided that the excising grout could not be restored and would need replacing, once the old grout was out when then got to digging out the old silicone and professionally cleaning the tiles. We then allowed everything to dry out, taking extra care to make sure there was no moisture where the new silicone would be going and then applied new grout. We let the new grout dry for 2 hours before applying the new silicone and as you can see the shower looked as good as new. This job is a very good example of professional tile restoration in action.
After finishing this work we explained to the client how best to maintain and care for the tiles and grout and recommended the best and most cost effective methods and products to do this.
This before and after might look too good to be true, but this is what is genuinely achievable with the correct processes and methods with professional tile and grout restoration. The client when contacting us was understandably very upset that tenants had left his bathroom in this state and was convinced that the only way to fic this was to rip the entire bathroom out. We scheduled in a visit for a test and within in minutes we showed the client that we could very easily fix these tiles. Natural stone is very forgiving if treated correctly and luckily this is not the first tile we had come across something like this. The bath panel tiles were replaced and the rest restored, new silicone around the edges and the bathroom looked brand new with the help of a few different trades, the tile, grout and silicone work took a total of 2 days and the price was very affordable, we aren't here to rip people off, we genuinely enjoy the process of restoration so we keep that ahead of the financial gain.
On completion of the work the client was advised on how best to keep everything maintained, a 5 star review was left and the client was extremely happy with the results.
This black slate in Chelsea had seen better days, the surface was covered in a haze of limescale, mould and other bits that you don't really want there, the silicone and grout were also not in very good condition. Luckily black slate is very easily restored with the correct methods and processes. This again is a great example of professional tile and grout restoration. We started by cleaning the surface of the tiles with acid, this attacked the limescale making it easier to remove. This was followed by lots of scraping and machine work and then the neutralisation of the acid. We then took the old grout out before deep machine cleaning the tiles and extracting the slurry from the surface. The tiles were then left to dry, upon our return the grout was replaced followed by the silicone and the tiles were then sealed with a breathable oil based sealer, this not only sealed the tiles but also replaced the oil needed in the stone to give it back it's colour. Slate is one of our favourite stones to work with as no matter how bad it may look, you can always bring it back.
