Clay Tiles. Victorian/Quarry/terracotta clay tiles

Sealed clay tiles

When these tiles look bad, they look really bad! But the good news is, as they are such a soft tile resurfacing can be a very straight forward process with the correct machines and knowledge, but it's still very messy. These tiles really stand the test of time and some we come across are more than 140 years old.

sealed Terracotta tiles

Gerally these tiles will have an old wax sealer on them, grout lines will be full of dirt and the tile surface will be covered in paint, adhesive and general ground in dirt. But with a good acid wash, deep cleaning with a carbide brush and industrial wet vacuum extraction you are left with a lovely surface ready for sealing.

sealed Quarry tiles

It is very important that these tiles are left to dry for atleast 24 hours before sealing, sometimes longer due to water saturation. when you are ready to seal you give them 4-6 coats of an impregnating, acrylic breathable low sheen sealer and you're left with a very nice, wipeable surface that will genuinly last your lifetime.
